Full Day Tour: 9am – 5pm
Meet at Casino where the bus will leave for Tabulam Village.
Your guide will provide commentary for the 1 hour scenic trip about the land
and its significance to the Bundjalung Nation.
Arrive at Tabulam Village with a greeting by some of the many families who live here.
Enjoy morning tea of Johnny Cakes, damper and Billy tea and visit the arts and craft centre where you will see the Tabulam people creating amazing pieces including Boomerangs, jewellery, and paintings.
Purchase authentic artworks from the artists themselves!
Board 4WD vehicles for the journey to the Clarence River, the biggest river on the east coast of Australia.
This short trip provides information about the farm and you will see the livestock and market garden, and orchards.
When you arrive at the Clarence River, you will hear about the river and its importance to the village.
Your tour guides will give instruction on how to hunt turtle; you will then witness the locals’ turtle diving (weather permitting).
This is a catch and release program, though the village does hunt turtle as part of their food source.
If it is warm day, enjoy a swim in this crystal clear river.
On colder days, enjoy fishing and bird watching activities.
Lunch will be served by the river, enjoy bush food tucker in the outdoors!
The atmosphere is fantastic, the scenery is amazing.
Back into the 4WD vehicle for a short trip into the native forest where your guides will demonstrate Jubal hunting (grubs).
Take the opportunity to photograph this unique experience.
Return back to the village for the farewell and any last minute purchases
from the art and craft store before boarding the bus to return to Casino.
